Amado Sur Malbec Blend 2010

90 points “Smart Buys” – Wine Spectator
Nathan Wesley, October 15, 2012
“This floral red exhibits juicy blackberry, raspberry and plum notes supported by medium tannins. The grippy finish unfolds with hints of mulled spice and licorice. Malbec, Bonarda and Syrah. Drink now.”

“The 2010 Amado Sur is a blend of 80% Malbec, 10% Bonarda and 10% Syrah that is aged for 12 months in Taransaud barrels. The nose is tightly wound and demands coaxing, offering baked red cherries, leather and graphite with time. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins. This is a feminine, smooth, silky red blend with shimmering red berry fruit and a sorbet-like freshness on the finish. Delicious! Drink now-2018.”

Michael Schachner, November 1, 2012
“This is dusty and smooth up front, with plenty of oak, balsamic, plum and berry aromas. Showing overall harmony, it feels sure and secure, with depth and solid flavors of toasty berry and bitter chocolate. It tastes similarly on the finish, with a jammy feel. A blend of 80% Malbec with 10% Bonarda and 10% Syrah.”

Amado Sur Torrontés Blend 2011

Michael Schachner, February 1, 2013
“Although this wine is entering its late stages of freshness, the bouquet is nice and tropical smelling. The palate maintains its vitality, even if it’s a bit oily in texture, while the flavors of lychee, melon and apple are good.”
