amado sur Summary
Amado Sur, which loosely translates to “Southern Love,” is a contemporary range of wines from the Trivento estate. The choice of name is a reference the special affinity that has evolved over the years between the Malbec and Torrontés grape varieties and the unique growing conditions found in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Some 6,000 miles from its original European homeland, Malbec has discovered its true potential in the Southern Hemisphere vineyards of Argentina, while Torrontés enjoys its status as Argentina’s emblematic white grape.
With the release of its Amado Sur Malbec and Amado Sur Torrontés Trivento became one of the first producers in Mendoza to start experimenting in a significant way with blends. The Amado Sur Malbec is combined with smaller quantities of Bonarda and Syrah, while the Torrontés is rounded out by small amounts of Viognier and Chardonnay. That other producers in Mendoza have now also started to experiment with Malbec and Torrontés blends is a testament to the success enjoyed by Trivento’s Amado Sur wines.
Amado Sur Malbec/Bonarda/Syrah: Amado Sur Malbec Blend is a deep red wine with violet hues. Aromas of strawberries and red cherries intertwine with hints of clove and vanilla. Lush red berry flavor gives way to velvety tannins and a pleasant, persistent finish.
Amado Sur Torrontés/Viognier/Chardonnay: Amado Sur is a delicate yellow wine with refined green tones. A complex, floral bouquet opens with notes of fresh cut roses folded with jasmine and a touch of citrus. On the palate, the wine is refreshing yet lush with flavors of white peach, apricot and mild orange peel. Crisp acidity frames the persistent finish.Print This Page
